Trades done
Week twelve Trade
A big trade went down in the Brown League,
I hope you are all were sitting down when you read about it.
daUCBcat gave up Tim Couch , Brian
Griese and Tim Biakiabutuka to
Connor's Dawg Pen for Fred Taylor and
Keyshawn Johnson.
Felix Theonugraha the owner of da UCBcat wins the
NGFFL "Golden Fleece" award for 1999. I read the comments on the
message board from Ernest Jackson, the owner of Connor's, explaining
his rational behind this trade.
WAKE UP Ernest, you made a BAD trade! Keeping 3 qb's in a 5 player
keeper is not a wise move. Ernest has Charlie Batch who should be a
cabable fantasy QB next season and beyond! Fred Taylor has had a rough
season but he still will be a top ten pick next year. I'd take my
chances on Taylor over Timmy B. any day!!! Keyshawn will have Vinny
back next so he wil be a top 30 pick next season.
Neither of these teams are in the hunt this year so I do not think any
collusion went on here. I think by the comments Ernest made, a trade
like this should not even be considered to be voided. Felix got a nice
Christmas present early!
Wow, the blockbusters keep coming in to trade central!
Week nine Trade
In the Rooney League,
Molino FFL traded Jim Harbaugh to
Four Horsmen for Bubby Brister
Neither is a fantasy force and both are lucky to be getting a paycheck
from the NFL.
In the Rooney League, the same two owners completed another deal
Molino FFL traded Eric "Zeigler" Zeier and Richard Huntleyto
Four Horsmen for Brian Grieseand 6 FA dollars.
Bottom line, Molino is
desperate for a QB! However, Griese may not help much until he returns
from an injury.
Finally in the Brown League,
daUCBcat traded Jets defense to
Atlanta Jackhammers for Denver defense
Edge goes to the
Jackhammers for getting rid of the team with psycho Bill Romanowski!
Week four Trade
In the Halas League,
Weapons of Love traded Todd Peterson to
Brigantine 69ers for Richie Cunningham
Nothing to say on trades involving kickers!!!
Week three Trade
In the Halas League,
Wayne Fontes traded Brett Favre and Lamont Warren to
Kiwi Air for Drew Bledsoe and James Stewart
If Fred Taylor keeps up the Isaac Bruce impersonation this year with his
hammy, this trade will benefit Kiwi Air.
James Stewart is currently #2 in rushing yards in the AFC and he will produce
as long as Taylor is out.
Bledsoe is having a great year with Terry Glenn healthy and at this
point is very close to Brett Favre.
Bledsoe has 1261 yards and 6 td's in 4 games while Favre has 925 yards
and 5 td's in 3 games.
I give the edge to Wayne Fontes on this trade only because of the status of Fred Taylor.
Week two Trade
In the Rooney League,
The Titan Traders traded Byron Hanspard and E.G. Green to
Class Dismissed for Jamal Anderson, Thurman Thomas and 7 FA$.
The trade between Titan Traders and Class Dismissed was a classic
example of what us fantasy baseball players call a "dump trade".
Todd Zola the owner of Class Dismissed and I are in a fantasy baseball
league called Harry Carey Memorial League(yours truely is the proud 1999
Champ) so he knows what I am talking about. Quite simply, it is a case
of one team building for the future (Traders) and the other making an
all out run this season. Steve knows he has little chance of success
this year so he is trying to build for next year. In dynasty or keeper
leagues, this can be a wise move to look at the future instead of
sulking and doing nothing in a losing season.
The trade helps both teams. one this year and the other for next season.

Week one Trade
In the Halas League,
The Weapons of Love traded Mike Alstott, Keenan
McCardell and Morten Andersen to Kiwi Air for Tony Martin, Dedric Ward,
and John Kasay.
The trade was made before the injuries to Thurman Thomas and Fred
Taylor, but even before these injuries this trade surprises me with
Weapons of Love trading away depth at RB in Alstott while adding WR's to
a more then adequate group of Reidel Anthony, Chris Calloway, Kevin
Dyson, Mikhael Ricks and Bill Schroeder.
Kiwi Air helped his RB's by adding Alstott. The only sure RB he has is
Dorsey Levens. Ricky Williams has a ankle injury and now a possible
elbow problem. His other RB's are James Johnson, James Stewart, Charles
Way and Jonh Avery. He did not get hurt trading away Martin and Ward.
He added McCardell to these WR's, Derrick Alexander, Terance Mathis, Rob
Moore and Andre Rison.
I refuse to comment on the kickers except it was one lefty for another
lefty! (Remember, this was analyzed a couple of weeks after the trade)
Preseason Trade
In the Rooney League,
after Trent Green was lost for the season, Molino
FFL went shopping for a QB. He was in desperate need of a backup for
Steve Young. He went and traded with Boston Swarm Jim Harbaugh for Bobby Engram.
This is a trade that should remind us all of those beer goggle, bar
closing times when we looked at women differently...........
It wasn't pretty but it had to be done!
